Who am I? What am I currently working on? Armageddon Gospels (feature film) and The Story (non fiction book).
Hello, my name is John Harrigan and I’m a writer, director, filmmaker, performer and founder and artistic director at FoolishPeople.org.
My work explores the inherent truth that each life holds. Utilising the mediums of ritual and storytelling to explore our relationship with the numinous. Haunting the liminal spaces of humanity and culture.
I lecture and facilitate workshops in meditation, art, theatre, wellness, creative writing and Ritual for organisations such as the Institute of Contemporary Arts, University of Hertfordshire, the Central School of Speech and Drama, Wilderness Festival and the Royal College of Art.
My scripts and work have been performed at the ICA, The Horse Hospital, Arcola Theatre, and throughout London and the rest of the UK and my work has been commissioned by the BBC, Secret Cinema and has been presented Internationally in the United States and the Netherlands.
‘The Woods Trapped at the Edge of Midnight’ (Writer and Director – FoolishPeople) headlined the theatre line up at the 2015 Wilderness Festival.
My debut feature as writer and director ‘Strange Factories’ was released on October the 26th 2013 at the London Cinema Museum and toured the UK’s oldest independent Cinema’s as a live immersive film.
‘Armageddon Gospels’ – My second feature film, as writer and director is currently in post-production and is due for release in 2018.
I’m halfway through the first draft of my first non-fiction book. This project is large and will be finished (fingers crossed) in the next couple of years.
